The Story of Hyde Bank Farm
Originally a thriving dairy farm serving the Romiley community since the 1920s, Hyde Bank Farm has a rich history. In 2004, the original barn was thoughtfully converted into a tearoom, quickly becoming a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike.
The charm and character of the stone barn caught the attention of many, leading to the first function being hosted in the upstairs space, followed by the first wedding in 2007. Since then, the barn’s historic features and timeless appeal have made it a sought-after venue for couples to celebrate their wedding ceremonies and receptions.
As the venue’s popularity grew, the decision was made to close the tearoom and shift the focus entirely to weddings. In 2017, the Reception Barn was extended to accommodate this growing demand. This expansion allowed the family to design a purpose-built space, featuring a new bar area and reception room, complete with a stunning panoramic window that provides a breathtaking backdrop for the wedding breakfast and reception.
The historic buildings on the farm date back to 1655 and were once home to Anne Hyde, who later married King James II, King of England in 1660. The charming Grade 2 listed sandstone barn has been converted and furnished and now houses our beautiful wedding suite.

We take pride in supporting our local community in Cheshire. Our chefs are dedicated to sourcing the freshest, highest-quality produce from local suppliers, ensuring that your wedding menu is both delicious and sustainable.

As a family business, all of our owners; Philip, Karen, Alan and Mandy Blackhurst take great pride in the venue. From welcoming you for the very first time at your viewing appointment, showing you all that Hyde Bank Farm has to offer for your wedding day, to maintaining our stunning grounds and buildings, before and after your wedding day. Even our 91-year-old Grandpa, David still waters our beautiful hanging baskets every day to keep them blooming.
Mandy Blackhurst
For the past 17 years, Mandy Blackhurst has been the welcoming face and trusted guide for all our couples. With her extensive experience at Hyde Bank Farm, Mandy is dedicated to making your wedding day truly special. She takes the time to get to know each couple, offering personalised advice and professional guidance to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience.
During your viewing appointment, Mandy will walk you through all that our venue and family can offer to create your perfect wedding day. From the initial booking to detailed planning sessions, Mandy’s expertise and genuine care will bring your vision to life.
Susie
Susie first joined the Hyde Bank Farm team in 2010, working in the tearoom and at events while pursuing her university studies. After a successful teaching career, she returned full-time in 2022 as our General Manager. Susie is often the first point of contact for potential couples, playing a key role in viewings, social media, and staff management.
On your wedding day, Susie is there from the moment you arrive, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Her primary focus is to let you relax and fully enjoy your special day, confident that our dedicated team is delivering exceptional service to you and your guests.
Nicola
Nicola has been an integral part of the Hyde Bank Farm team for several years, initially bringing her passion for excellent customer service to the front of house. She later became our Bar Manager, taking on the important role of ensuring the drinks flow smoothly on your wedding day. From serving your perfect welcome drink after the ceremony or arrival from the church to organising the wine service and your choice of toast drink, Nicola is there from start to finish.
She ensures our beautiful bar area is always immaculate, well-stocked, and efficiently run, so your guests enjoy their drinks without long waits.
